David Sedaris, Hoopla and The Outsider: Top 10 with illustrator Kristen Solecki

20.02.20

This week we asked our Top 10 questions to Kristen Solecki, an artist and illustrator currently based in Chapel Hill, NC. Since earning her degree in illustration from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Solecki has worked with a variety of clients to create editorial illustrations, book cover art, marketing materials, paintings, and other projects.

When she’s not doing client work, Kristen exhibits her art in galleries around the country, teaches workshops, and curates exhibitions. She is always on the lookout for out-of-the-box projects that use illustration in new and unique ways.

Here are her answers:

My favourite thing about my job is
Being able to cultivate curiosity. The variety of projects I work on comes with a wide range of topics, and I love being able to learn about new things and use them in my illustrations.
